Had a nice weekend with the Princess and the Step-King. Was a little sad when I went to pick up Princess that her Dad forgot it was my weekend (I get the 2nd weekend of the month and the 5th when there is one). I went to pick her up and she didn't come out so I finally called her Dad to see what the holdup was. He forgot...that's what he said, but, I believe that as much as I believed him when I was married to him. He asked if she could stay, I agreed (thinking he was home- he works out of town) only to find out he didn't stay home, he left her with her step-sister - alone. Why did I sacrifice that night I could have been with her for that?! I just wanted to get along. Now that I know he didn't stay, I might not be so agreeable next time. I can't get that time back - my loss.
She did however come home on Saturday and was home till Sunday night. Many games on the X-box of Rock Band (she is awesome on drums) were played along with viewing you-tubes on her Kindle fire. I just love knowing she is here...her dog does too lol.
I grew up much like she is when she is here. I had to find my own entertainment but I was self entertained. I would sing, create, go outside, hang with friends and find my own fun. She isn't much like me in this regard. She does entertain herself with electronics, but that's about it. I mentioned that we could sew - she said later. I asked her to wash her dog - she said later- I asked her to write a thank-you card - she said later, I asked her to vacuum her floor, she said it was fine. Finally I told her to help me clean the bathroom...I was tired of hearing "later" because it pretty much was a word that meant nothing. I guess this is age 12 behavior. Been so long for me I don't remember.
As far as sewing, my current project is going to be made of ties, mens ties and like fabric. I've gotten some from my sweet Step King and have washed them, taken them apart, ironed fusible webbing on the back of them and now am waiting for a pattern to yell at me. I've thought of a crazy quilt design - and will still probably go with it...I just have to start.
I have two other projects waiting for me as well. My Mom wants turbans that tie made for her to wear around the house and I have a quilt begging me to quilt it on my long arm after that. I just have a hard time focusing.
I thought I'd be loading a quilt on the longarm last Friday, but other things came up and I didn't. The longarm 14ft table still needs to be cleared of tubs and stuff to get started. I've been avoiding going in that room. The real reason is because I have a ton of filing to do....and I hate to file. I can't play on my longarm knowing those papers are staring at me and being neglected. Fingers crossed I get started on filing this week. Even if its 15 minutes a day!
Meanwhile I'll get going on my chores. I have dishes to wash (no dishwasher in the castle) and clothes to clean (no dryer in the castle either - we do the drip dry hang thang) Hopefully tomorrow will prove to be more productive.
Blessings to whomever reads this xoxo
